cold night in Rochester NY…

Had a nice, brisk walk around downtown Rochester, NY. This area is very nice, and well lit at night, but it’s a ghost town.  I think I only saw 2 people as I was walking around…. then again, that might have been the same guy twice! family disconnected…

a bit of a tough day, as far as missing home and my family goes. I tried to do FaceTime on my iPad, which didn’t work, then tried iChat on the computer, and we could sort of see each other, but it was hard to hear-  making conversation tough, especially with a 4 year old.Continue reading “family disconnected…”

gathering focus…

It’s been a little over one month since I’ve been on tour with Blue Man, and so far, I’m seeing how I go through waves of gaining focus on my goals, then straying away. I’ve broken my goals down into 5 basic things, so it’s easier for me to keep track of. Then, recently, IContinue reading “gathering focus…”

Kale chips! Last night in Cinci…

It’s our last full night here in Cincinnati, so that means it’s packing night. So far for me I’ve been making a little tradition of packing night being the night when I pack, (obviously), and I also try to cook up all the food that I have left in the fridge. It’s only occasionally thatContinue reading “Kale chips! Last night in Cinci…”

Home (hotel) cookin!

Since I’ve been here in Cincinnati, and after I found the Findlay market, I’ve been cooking fish in the apartment almost every night. The only drawback I suppose is that my apartment suite smells like fish! This is a dish that I was cooking a lot while I was here. As per my wife’s recommendation,Continue reading “Home (hotel) cookin!”

Today’s Lunch!

How about an avocado, basil pepper chicken sandwich on toasted Multi-grain bread with grape tomatoes, olive oil mayo, and pesto spread! Delicious! The chicken was precooked and flavored from Findlay Market. Got the hand made pesto spread there too! Findlay Market is a farmer’s market type place, close to downtown Cinci, that’s open 6 daysContinue reading “Today’s Lunch!”

family life- and a little back story

Yesterday, while “facetime-ing” with my son, Taiyo, he asks me, “Do you miss me Papa?” “I miss you a lot Taiyo.” “But it’s good that we get to facetime.” He’s so right, and what an amazing difference it makes.  Just to see him, and make funny faces at each other, and say “lululululululu,” is suchContinue reading “family life- and a little back story”

tour so farther (pt 2…0)

This one isn’t going to be just about my iphone, ipromise… (get it?  a bit of igeek humor there for ya!) One thing that has struck me about touring is how I have to get used to constantly being off balance.  I hadn’t really thought about this, but everything around me is constantly changing.  EssentiallyContinue reading “tour so farther (pt 2…0)”

Tour So Far… pt 1: Death of an iPhone

So I’m now over a month into tour.  Before leaving for tour, I had imagined myself with my blog website well under way, with tons of entries about the places I had gone, and amusing anecdotes about being on tour…. But, alas, I am just now getting my blog up (it’s more work than IContinue reading “Tour So Far… pt 1: Death of an iPhone”
